In this presentation, I aim to shed some light on the potential complementarity of these programs and offer some preliminary thoughts as to how engineers and planners might work with their financial counterparts to achieve more holistic and more cost-effective risk management programs for their organizations. Biography Josh DeFlorio, AICP, LEED AP, is Chief, Resilience and Sustainability at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ). He leads a team that focuses on ensuring that the aviation, port, urban rail, tunnel, bridge, terminal, and real estate facilities called for in the agency’s $37 billion capital plan are designed and delivered to be both environmentally sustainable and climate resilient. Prior to joining PANYNJ, he was national Practice Lead for Risk and Resilience at Cambridge Systematics, a transportation management consultancy, and served as a Senior Project Manager in the NYC Economic Development Corporation’s Ports & Transportation group. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20200408T180000 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
