Hello everyone! If you are wondering on my online whereabouts, here is a list of some few places when you can see me do podcasts, blogs, and even video blog.

My Boring Life… Now A Blog! – Of course, brinknotes.org is my main blog about everything under the sun. I write about different topics that interest me and would be probably interest you too. I also cover GMA 7’s Pinoy Idol on this blog.

Pinoy Idol Podcast – If you miss BrinkNotes Podcast, you might want to listen first to the podcast series I made dedicated to GMA 7’s Pinoy Idol. BrinkNotes Podcast is now on hiatus to give way to my new podcast show, Pinoy Idol Podcast.

BrinkNotes Podcast – BrinkNotes Podcast is only hiatus and I will be posting updates every now and then. I’m planning to clean and update the BrinkNotes podcast website in the coming days. Since, I’ve got two shows now, and I think it would be three if another interesting topic would cross my mind, I’m planning to make www.brinknotespodcast.com as an aggregator site of all my podcasts – except for Jeric’s Confessions. I won’t dare repost those embarrassing podcasts!

Jeric On The Tube – After almost a year of waiting, Jeric On The Tube is now online on its new home. Please do drop by Jeric On The Tube and check out the video blogs I’ve been posting. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome. Don’t forget to view, subscribe, rate, and comment!

Distance Education in the Philippines – Since I’m a student of University of the Philippines, Open University, one of the institutions here in the Philippines that offers open and distance education, I dedicated to create a blog that would chronicle my life as a distance learner. The blog will feature my experiences and hopefully news about Distance Education in the Philippines.

Just Jeric – If you want to start to hate me, why not visit my emo blog where I post poems mostly about love! I also post random musings over there. It is my pseudo-personal blog where I try to be just myself.

If you’re done reading the blogs above, then, follow my on Twitter. Hahaha! I can’t compete with Ria’s 12 blogs . I managed 6 blogs already and I’m having a hard time updating and maintaining these blogs.<ins datetime="2008-05-09T17:28:34+00:00"></ins>

Over the past years, I have missed a lot of blogger events like the Philippine Blog Awards, iBlog3, TriNoma Bloggers Tour and others. And up to this time, I still regret that I missed the Happyslip Meet & Greet. Imagine, I was already in the list but I still missed it. But, I heard over her live chat that she’ll becoming back to the Philippines this August. Now, I promise myself to attend blogger events. I know it would be nice rubbing elbows with the famous Filipino Bloggers so I shall attend at least one blogger event.

Anyway, it is the season of blogger events again!

The Philippines Blog Awards 2008 is now acceptiong nominations. Go to their website to nominate your own blog or someone else’s blog. This blog was nominated last year.

On April 25, 2008, an exclusive bloggers’ tour would be happening in TriNoma and Serendra organized by Spot.ph. I would really love to attend this. I already confirmed my attendance and looking forward to meeting other bloggers. Well, I shall tag along with my sister, as I don’t want to be a loner on that day hoping she’s free on that day.

On the other hand, the 4th Philippine Blogging Summit also known as iBlog 4 would be held on April 26, 2008 at the Malcolm Theater, College of Law, UP Diliman, Quezon City. A lot of topics about blogging and podcasting would be covered. I’m excited to attend this one.

And of course, the 88DB.com Blogger’s Night hppening after iBlog4 at Katips Bar, Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City. Bloggers are encouraged to come as your blog. I wonder how would I represent, “My Boring Life… Now A Blog!” Anyway, if you’re interested to join just head over to Aileen’s blog to register.

So far those are the blogger events that I have heard of. I really hope that I could attend all of those. See you there fellow blogger!

This is totally unexpected! Annalyn Jusay of Annalyn.net asked Filipino bloggers their thoughts on what they consider to be their best blogging achievement(s) for 2007. I commented on her blog and share my blogging achievement for 2007. And I said something like this:

Jeric Pena of brinknotes.org:

My biggest blogging achievement this year is that I was able to earn money through my blogs and buy stuffs on my own. Talk about semi-financial independence (not really). It is also through blogging that I met people from different walks of life sharing the same passion – blogging.

After a few weeks, I was surprised that my comment appeared on Manila Bulletin’s Online Version of the Blog-O-Rama section. I didn’t expect that my comment would actually appear on the section. I don’t know when would this be published on the hard copy of Manila Bulletin. I need to know when for I would be getting a copy and have it framed. KIDDING! But, I would be better to see the article printed, right? Yehey for me! To Annalyn Jusay, thank you for including my comment on your article! Thank you, thank you, and thank you! This would be the second time that I would be seeing my name on a newspaper (first was on Philippine Daily Inquirer).

Hoping to see this article on print soon!

Many people are asking me how I earned through my blog at my age. Earning through your blog is not an overnight thing. You need to work for it to earn a decent amount. If you started blogging today, this week, this month or so, don’t expect to earn a dollar or so by tomorrow. I started blogging when blog platforms (Blogger, WordPress, Movable Type and others) are not yet famous. I have to manual update an HTML page by then. Mostly, I earn from get paid to blog programs. Having a PayPal Account would be necessary for almost all “paid-to-blog” programs payout thru Paypal.

Good thing, Smorty is here! Smorty is a service connecting advertisers with bloggers. Advertisers can pay bloggers to write opinion posts with links back to the advertisers site. Try Smorty and get to blog for money! Don’t forget to research to know more about how you could earn through blogging.

So here are some things you need to do:

First, you need to establish your own blog. Buy yourself a domain name and hosting for most “paid-to-blog” program prohibits free-hosted blogs like Blogger, WordPress.com and others. If you really wish to earn something through your blog, you have to invest. There are cheap domain names and hosting out there. All you have to do is to search for the cheap and yet reliable host.

Second, fill your blog with quality content. Talk about current events, lifestyle, technology and anything substantial. Work on your content for months or even more until the time that your Google PageRank would increase. You could check the PageRank of your site by visiting www.prchecker.info. Most “paid-to-blog” program checks on the PageRank of a blog to measure how much they’ll pay you.

Third, do some link exchanges. Do some blog hopping and try to do some link exchanges with them. Comment on their blog if necessary but DON’T SPAM them!

When your PageRank increases into PR1 or even higher, you could now start joining “paid-to-blog” programs such as BlogToProfit, PayPerPost, Blogvertise and others. Having a PayPal Account would be necessary for almost all “paid-to-blog” programs payout thru Paypal.

You could also try “pay-per-click” programs such as Adsense, Bidvertiser and others. If your blog is famous already, you could also start selling links through Text Link Ads and others.

If you want a stable income, you could also join Blog Networks such as B5Media and others. But, you need to have good writing skills to be able to qualify. Visit jobs.problogger.net for different openings.

Don’t forget to research to know more what I’m talking about on this post.
