9:42AM: BACK WITH THE SHOW! The Top 12 of Season 7 are on the stage again singing just before the announcement! They are all in black singing “Faith”. On the hand, the guys are singing “Father Figure”.

They’re singing “Freedom” now.

George Michael enters the stage with the song “Praying for Time”. The camera spotted Paula crying.

9:56AM: The SHOW IS BACK! Ryan is on stage with the Davids. The three judges giving their final comments.

Randy says that he’s happy it’s the two of them (two Davids), one of the strongest years ever.

Paula is honored to be sitting there, says it’s the beginning of the start of the rest of their careers.

Simon says he wants to congratulate both of them, watched it at home and said it wasn’t as clearly cut. Apologizes to Cook for verging on being disrespectful. He says they’re both try-ers and they both did terrific.

The guy from telescope hands Ryan the envelope. THE RESULTS ARE HERE!

7:53AM: Welcome to BrinkNotes.ORG’s LIVE BLOG COVERAGE of the American Idol Season Finale. Tonight, I’ll be bringing you the 2-hour finale of American Idol by providing you with photos, videos and audio clips from the show. Please stay tune and don’t forget to refresh for fresh content! 8:00AM: And the show is on! YEHEY!!! It’s LIVE! The lights are on. David Archuleta and David Cook in White and standing face-to-face. The camera is rotating around them. THIS IS THE AMERICAN IDOL SEASON FINALE! Roll the famous American Idol Opening Billboard!

Ryan (Not verbatim): We have made it! Tonight is the final results show. 97.5 millions came in just for the finale! There was a 23 million increase in votes as compared to last year. One David got 56% of the votes while the other only got 44%. (The difference is quite big, huh?)

Judges are now being introduced. Randy is boo-ing Simon Cowell.

Live shots from the hometown of the two Davids are being shown. The fans are going wild!

The stars of So You Thing You Can Dance is doing the opening number with the Top 12 of Season 7. They are all in white. They are singing “Get Ready” with some dance steps of course!

8:10AM: The show is back. The two Davids are now singing “Hero” by Chad Kroeger/Josey Scott. Their families are being shown too.

A video promo of “Love Guru” is currently being shown. The two Davids are seeing the movie first with the Guru itself. Guru Pitka is addicted to Guitar Hero? Guru Pitka is trying to shave David C’s facial hair. And he is on the show on his magic carpet, I suppose.

Guru Pitka (to Randy): You are my dog!
Guru Pitka (to Paula): I love you!
Guru Pitka (to Simon): I love you even more!

The guru calls Ryan Seacrest “Mr. Seafoam” and predicts the winner will be a U.S. citizen, and will have the name “David” Ryan Seacrest is riding the magic carpet!

8:25AM: The show is back with Jason Castro as he sings”Hallelujah” wearing blue shirt and jeans. He is sitting on a stool and eventually walks on the stage.

7:35AM: According to TMZ.com, there were nearly 100 million votes cast last night. On the other hand, DialIdol.com is predicting that David Cook will win this year’s American Idol. We will confirm those reports in a matter of few minutes. Stay tune to our live blog coverage! I’ll be start a new blog post for the “Show Updates” by 7:55AM.

7:38AM: Please keep in mind that DialIdol.com only measures the busy tones on each contestant’s phone line/s. This means that DialIdol doesn’t have the capabilities to track or measure the votes sent thru text messages which could make a big difference on tonight’s result if more Archuleta fans preferred to vote thru text messaging. DialIdol has correctly predicted the previous American Idol winners throughout the years.

7:42AM: On tonight’s show, we would be expecting tons of performers like the Season 7 Top 12, Bo Bice, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks and a whole lot more. 08:49AM: Finally! I got the American Idol feed now! This live blog coverage is a few minutes (around 30 to 40 minutes) behind the live Idol show. This is the best that we can have here in the Philippines. Anyways! On with the show!

08:53AM: Steve McMahon is doing the introduction spiels. As reported earlier, the show’s theme is indeed BOXING. David Cook in red while David Archuleta in blue. Sorry, pictures are a bit blurry.

08:59AM: The judges are now being introduced and a video being shown about tonight’s show. David A vs David C. The show is being shot in Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles.

09:01AM: David Archuleta won the toss coin. He decided that David Cook will perform first while he comes next. “May the best man win,” Paula said. David Cook will open the show after the BREAK!

Randy: “I’m gonna call you DC. It was a great way to start off this duel of 2007. It was hot baby!”

Paula: “You may not have found what you’re looking for but we have. David Cook has arrived amen amen.”

Simon: “You looked very tense, very emotional. So taking all that together, I thought it was phenomenal.”

Randy: “It doesnt matter what happens right now, this is one of the best performances of the season. That was flawless and unbelievably molten hot! Crazy vocals”

Paula: “The sun is never gonna go down on you. I got chills up my arms. That was a beautiful exciting performance.”

Simon: “It’s easy to get overexcited tonight. Last week I thought you were ok. I thought tonight this is the best you’ve been so far [applause] taking everything into account, round 1 goes to Archuleta.”

Simon: “Using the boxing analogy it was bit of a lightweight. It’s supposed to be a winning song, it didn’t sound like a winning moment. That was a 6.5 out of 10.”

Randy: “One of the cool things about you is you’re showing different sides of Cook. This is the kind of record you could get by with. Very nice job.”

Paula: “You’re standing in your truth and you’re delivering performances with originality and integrity. I truly applaud you.”

Simon: “You are one of the nicest and most sincere contestants we’ve ever had. It was a beautiful song, but it was completely and utterly the wrong song for you. You should have sung “Billie Jean” [boos] you understand what I’m saying?”

08:10AM – The Season 7 Finale of American Idol is live at the Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles which got 7,000 seating capacity. David Cook will perform first and David Archuleta would be second. There would be 4 hours for the fans to vote after the show.

08:42AM – The Philippine broadcast of the Top 2 Performance doesn’t air until 6:00PM (GMT +08:00). So, we have to wait for those! I’m excited for the show. Anyway, I’ll be posting updates from the show here. Better check this site regularly.
