A shocking results show – Robby is now out of Pinoy Idol, 9 are left
Jul 7th, 2008 | By Jeric Peña | Category: Entertainment, Pinoy Idol
Last night, one of the strongest contenders of Pinoy Idol was sent home – Robby Navarro. Daryl and Sue joined him in the bottom three. It’s just sad that he was the one to be sent home. Although he’s just fine for me, I still firmly believe that Robby is better than Daryl and Sue. As I’ve said on my previous Pinoy Idol post, I don’t appreciate Sue’s talent at all. In fact, I’ve been praying to the high heavens that at least Sue or one of the rockers, with great emphasis on Ram would be eliminated last night. Unfortunately, that was the case last night and a lot of fans are disappointed.
Viewers of the show think that Robby Navarro got negative publicity on the recent Pinoy Idol Extra episode wherein the hopefuls were put into a “test”. Hence, he got the lowest number of votes this week. I guess the footages were shown on Pinoy Idol Extra to be able to generate some buzz for Pinoy Idol. Unfortunately, I didn’t generate some buzz. Instead, it caused the ouster of one of the best and strongest contenders of Pinoy Idol.
I think we can’t do anything about this because this is how the contest goes. You get the highest number of votes; you’re going to the next round. If not, sorry but say goodbye to your Idol journey now. We can’t force the viewers to vote for the best. Each of us has our own Idols whom we support. If one contestant has a good number of supporters who can vote him/her a million times, even if he/she has a mediocre performance, that performance will still continue to the next round. People, this is the Idol format for us. I guess this is one of the things I’ve learned from the first Philippine franchise of the Idol series. Reymond Sajor got eliminated in the early stages of the Final 12 despite performing well consistently, if not the best. Some of his co-finalists have the resources to generate thousands of votes while he, on the other side benefits only from the support of his family, friends and fans.
I know how hard is it to accept that your Idol is now out of the competition. I’ve been there before. But at least let’s look at the bright side; Penelope and Kid are still in the competition.
Moving on, the high heavens must have heard my plea for better Pinoy Idol themes. Next week, the remaining nine Pinoy Idol hopefuls will be working with the Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez. I believe that this week would be very tough especially for the girls. Actually, it would be very hard for them to avoid but render a “karaoke” performance. I wish each one of them good luck.
The nine remaining Pinoy Idol finalists are Penelope, Jayann Bautista, Gretchen Espina, Sue Ellen, Ram Chaves, Kid Camaya, Daryl Celis, Warren Antig, and Toffer Rei. Performance nights are every Saturday after Pinoy Records while results are delivered Sunday nights after Kap’s Amazing Stories.

tayo ang dapat sisihin sa naging resulta ng show, kasi dapat nakikinig tayo sa mga comments ng mga judges, kung 2 out of 3 judges or all 3 judges ang nagsabi ng possitive comments sa isang performer yun dapat ang iboto, pero kung 2 out of 3 judges or all 3 judges ang nagsabi ng negative comments sa isang performer wag na wag iboto ang performer na yun
a lot of Pinoy Idol Fans are really shocked over Robby’s boot. As I write this, over 70 comments already.
Regarding the result of the Pinoy Idol last night July 6, 2008, I was really disappointed because Robby Navarro was vote out. I think he is one of the greatest contender for that pinoy idol search. I also agree with Jeric Peña that he is also one of the strongest contender in Pinoy Idol.
I think the viewers must know whom they really need to vote because this talent search is not all about the face and popularity. Because base on what i have observed most of the viewers like contenders who are handsome and pretty and popular.. Viewers must be wise to vote who should hold the title Pinoy Idol.
I think that Sue Ellen and Daryll must be vote out with that talent search. They do not deserve to be one of the 9 contenders in Pinoy Idol.”
I hope the next Pinoy Idol result will not be like what had happened last night.
Dapat tlaga c daryl celis ang ntanggal hindi si Robby..Wala namang katalent talent si daryl when it comes to singing. He always perform like an highschool performance. Sobrang galing nya. So please sa mga texter at fans ni daryl wag nyong kunin sa kamag anak o dahil frend nyo xa, vote for someone who truly deserves the title “PINOY IDOL”. And dapat din hindi din kunin sa percent ng voting dapat my percent din sa mga judges like the American Idol. Dapat 60/40 ung hatian.60 % sa judges and 40% sa texters.
Hope they have a wildcard episode to give chance to those who are truly talented such as Robby. It’s crazy having the not so talented ones represent the country in international competitions. Who’s supposed to compete with David Cook? The remaining contestants? Well, best of luck!
hay y nman c robby, tlagang d whole family cried ng ma out c robby….sya tlga ang pinoy idol n deserving…i hopemabigyan cya ng chance s sop….hes better than gerald, brenan, harry,jr,gian,…paging regine pls get robby sa 1 of ur recording contact…i know he have long way 2 go…pls gma get robby in sop..
Am still on denial stage about Roby’s fate in PI. Honestly, nawalan na ako ng ganang manood ng PI. Aside from Roby , am also routing for Ram and Kid. I just hope, this time around, viewers will VOTE WISELY!
Roby! ur the best!
Pinoy Idol – LAGPAK
Pinoy Dream Academy – very good
Survivor Philippines – excellent show
Pinoy Fear Factor – mediocre at it’s best
