American Idol Top 8 Results Show
Apr 11th, 2008 | By Jeric Peña | Category: American Idol, Entertainment, TelevisionThis is Jeric blogging about the American Idol Top 8 Results Show. This is Idol Gives Back week but still, someone has to go. And we will find who will go home on tonight’s results show.

A recap of last night’s show was shown. And I have one question, why did Miley Cyrus performed twice during the Idol Gives Back show? So far, they have raised $60 million (ka ching! ka ching! ka ching!).

The Top 8 performed “Shout To The Lord” for the second time. Now, they sang it with the right lyrics, “My Jesus… My Savior…”
Over 31 million votes came in, the highest so far this season. Results are posted after the jump.

Brooke White (You’ve Got a Friend) – SAFE
David Cook (Innocent) – SAFE
David Archuleta (Angels) – SAFE
Dr. Phil with Ricki Lake still asking for donations. Forrest and Keisha Whitaker are back with a video about a family in Angola. Back to the show.
Jordin Sparks is with Chris Brown on the stage performing “No Air”. Jordin Sparks received a few awards (Gold award for the Jordin Sparks CD, 1 million downloads of Tattoo, 1 million downloads of No Air).
Michael Chiklis is seeking for your donations. A new Ford Music Video is being shown entitled, “I Just Want To Celebrate” with the Idols, of course. And now, back to the results.
Jason Castro (Somewhere Over The Rainbow) – SAFE
Kristy Lee Cook (Anyway) – SAFE
Michael Johns (Dream On) – BOTTOM THREE
Syesha Mercado (I Believe) – BOTTOM THREE
Carly Smithson (The Show Must Go On) – BOTTOM THREE
My predictions were correct! Jim Carrey is on the show for Idol Gives Back still asking for your donations. Back to the show.
“Tonight, save a life. Tomorrow, change the world.”
Sen. Hillary Clinton, Sen. John McCain, and Sen. Barack Obama are also asking for your donations. Back to the show.
Randy Jackson: Pretty surprising Bottom Three.
Paula Abdul: Partly right, partly wrong (the Bottom Three).
Simon Cowell: Yes, I think we (America) now have a connection.
Back to the results.
Michael Johns sang Dream On. Paula thought it was the perfect song for you. Simon and Randy thought you didn’t represent yourself the artist you really are.
Syesha Mercado sang I Believe. Simon and Randy felt a lack of emotional connection. Paula thought it was a shining moment for you.
Carly Smithson sang The Show Must Go On. The judges all agreed that your performance was a little off. And Simon thought it was an angry performance.
After the nationwide vote, Syesha and Carly, you are SAFE

That’s means Michael got the lowest number of votes this week. Tonight, we’re gonna say goodbye to Michael Johns.

The show wraps up with Michael Johns singing on the Idol stage for the last time.
