Graduating from high school is really hard especially if you have to leave your friends and the school itself. The years have now paid off. On Saturday, March 29, 2008, together with other 248 students, I would be graduating from high school and would be leaving our Alma Mater to face a new chapter in our academic life. I am very thankful for my final year in high school has become very fruitful. Let me thank God for He has given many blessings in my whole stay in Notre Dame of Greater Manila. I can’t imagine myself graduating from high school with flying colors. Never did I imagine myself receiving a lot of awards.
A while ago, after our Thanksgiving Mass there was a surprise recognition program where different off-campus organizations and or institution gave recognition to some of the graduating students. The first and second honor certificates were also given to some students.
Not expecting any award, CAL (Computer Assisted Learning Corp.) awarded me with an Excellence in ICT (Information and Computer Technology) medal. I was really shocked when I knew that my name was called for almost all the awardees were from the cream section. Luckily, my mom was there to affix my medal. This is really unexpected. After the program, I learned that my Computer teacher recommended me for I represented the school in several out-of-the-campus webpage-designing contests and eventually won.
The Top Ten of each class were also given recognition. Fortunately, I am the top five of our class. I was also included in the Top 50 of the graduating class (specifically, I’m rank 47). I also received the Second Honor certificate. I was really thankful for now I realized that all my hardships are now paying off.
This Saturday, together with other 79 students, I would be receiving a Loyalty Award from my Alma Mater, Notre Dame of Greater Manila. I’ve been studying in Notre Dame of Greater Manila since 1996 and had been under 3 different school directors.
I didn’t know that I’ll receive this much for I’ve been worrying a lot if I would graduate or not. I know that I owe this all to the Lord for I AM NOTHING with HIM. So, I thank Him for all these things.
I now have my graduation gown and cap. I was so excited that I tried it on. It is so nice that our school still follows the tradition of wearing graduation gowns and caps.
