Graduation Song

Feb 6th, 2008 | By | Category: Blogging, Random Thoughts, School

I volunteered myself to write a graduation song to be our class entry to the graduation songwriting contest. My classmate, Albert wrote a graduation song too that’s why the class should vote which would serve as our official entry to the contest. Unfortunately the class did not choose my work for reasons, which I don’t own. It’s fine with me. Thank you Ryan Aberin whom I commissioned to put melody on my lyrics. He insisted to put melody to the lyrics although it was not chosen. I am posting the lyrics here hoping that someone would appreciate the lyrics. May these lyrics be in Google’s cache forever.

Stick Around
by: Jeric Peña

We started out as friends
Sharing all our trials
Laughing in times of joy
Crying in times of pain
Now, it’s time for goodbyes

Refrain: The young days have past
Yet the mem’ries will surely last
More dreams to earn
But, a lot of things were learned

Chorus: So, as we travel along the narrow path
We remember the good days we’ve shared
And, as we separate ways today
Our memories will always stay

We’ll take one more step and start a new beginning
Facing challenges, life might bring
Step by step, hand in hand
We can make our dreams come true as planned

(Repeat Refrain & Chorus)

BOYS: And, the world goes round and round

GIRLS: And, our lives would bloom like a rose

ALL: We thank everyone who thought us to stick around
